2020 Election

March 10 States Lean Heavily Towards Biden

After overtaking competitor Bernie Sanders on Super Tuesday, Joe Biden is set to extend his lead after today’s primaries held in six states. Biden currently has 670 pledged delegates to Sanders’ 574 in the race for the Democratic nomination in the 2020 presidential election.

Michigan is the biggest out of the states going to the polls today. 125 delegates are up for grabs there – much fewer than in Super Tuesday heavyweights like California and Texas. Yet, the state is being closely watched this election cycle after contributing majorly to Donald Trump’s win in 2016.

Biden leads in double digits in Michigan as well as in Missouri and is miles ahead of Sanders in Mississippi and North Dakota (where only limited polling exists). Sanders comes closest to Biden in Washington, where he is less than 3 percentage points behind, and in Idaho, where the gap to catch up to Biden is around 9 percent.
