How Americans View McConnell & Schumer

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has had his first debate with Democratic opponent Amy McGrath. The former Marine Corps combat pilot pressed the Kentucky senator on the lack of another coronavirus relief package with the debate also focusing on the Supreme Court nomination battle as well as McConnell's record. Ahead of the event, a Pew Research Center survey found that few American voters have warm views of McConnell with 57 percent considering "somewhat or very cold".

Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer is also unpopular with the U.S. public. The Pew Research Center survey found that 51 percent of Americans also consider him "somewhat or very cold" with only a quarter considering the New York senator "somewhat or very warm".
