E-Commerce

No Match for Amazon

The analysts of Statista eCommerceDB estimate Amazon's European revenues at around 54 billion euros for 2020, which is more than the combined total of the other nine eCommerce brands in the ranking. Number 2 is Tesco, but by a wide margin. Britain's largest retail chain generated revenues of 8.1 billion euros in 2020. The German online retailer Zalando is close behind, while other UK companies Argos, Sainsbury's and Currys also make the top 10.

The European e-commerce market has grown strongly recently - a trend that is expected to continue in the coming years. However, the individual national markets within Europe are extremely different from each other. What exactly are the differences and which country has the fastest eCommerce sales growth? Which brands are most successful on the continent? The trend report "eCommerce in Europe 2021" answers these and other questions by combining exclusive insights from ecommerceDB.com and analyzing them in depth.
