IBM: A Pioneer of Tech Giants

Technology companies are often perceived as young and innovative. However, many of these companies have been around for quite some time. A good example of this is the computer pioneer IBM, which was founded in the United States in 1911, making it 114 years old. Meanwhile, Microsoft, the tech giant founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, celebrates its 50th anniversary on April 4.

But even some of today’s social media platforms have walked the earth for longer than you might expect. Facebook has been around for 21 years, while X, formerly Twitter, will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. The youngest company on the list is TikTok, which is now nine years old.
