According to the Barclays UK Prosperity Map, median household wealth in the South East of Britain comes to £309,700, making it the top region in the country by household wealth. The South West is in second place with £288.300 while the East comes third with £259,900. The North East is bottom of the league with less than half as much as the South East, a mere £142,700.
