Disney's 7-Billion Dollar Year

While “Rogue One – A Star Wars Story” is currently making waves at the box office, Disney, the company that owns the Star Wars franchise, can already look back at a blockbuster year. Disney was behind five of the ten highest-grossing movies of the year, including each of the Top 4 in terms of global box office revenue.

Raking in more than $7 billion at the global box office this year, Disney has become the first company to beat that threshold. With almost two weeks left on the clock, the company will easily cruise by the previous record for annual ticket sales set by Universal last year ($6.9 billion).
