February Was A Blockbuster Month For U.S. Jobs

February proved a blockbuster month for U.S. jobs, shattering analyst's expectations. According to ADP, the private sector added 298,000 new jobs, far ahead of a predicted 190,000. The goods-producing sector had an especially positive month with 106,000 jobs added while 193,000 positions were created in the service sector. The data from February covers President Trump's first full month on the job and marks the largest increase in job creation in nearly three years. January was also a strong month for the labor market with 261,000 jobs added, higher than an expected 246,000.
