Fourth of July Food Spending Is Falling

According to the National Retail Federation, 61 percent of Americans will be celebrating Independence Day this year with a barbecue, cookout or picnic. As our infographic shows, all of that food comes with a hefty price tag, but one which has been getting smaller in recent years. $7.1 billion was expected to be spent for the festivities in 2017, but the figure is $6.8 billion this year - back to 2016 levels of planned spending.
