Toyota named the most valuable Japanese brand of 2018

In June, Brand Finance announced the most valuable Japanese brands of 2018, with Toyota at the very top of the ranking valued at almost 44 billion U.S. dollars. The Japanese car manufacturer is one of the largest companies within the global automotive industry. It is active in a variety of segments, including SUVs and crossovers, trucks and motorcycles. Furthermore, Toyota invests heavily in the research and development of hybrid electric vehicles, as well as plug-in and full-electric vehicles. In addition to its operations in the automotive manufacturing industry, Toyota is involved in various other areas, including robotics and aerospace projects.

Japan is one of the leading automobile manufacturing countries worldwide, has the largest electronics goods industry, and is ranked among the most innovative countries accounting for a great share of global patent applications. Therefore, it may not come as a surprise that besides Toyota, Brand Finance’s ranking includes some of the world’s most esteemed corporations within the automobile, technology, and telecommunications sectors, such as Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda, Sony, and Softbank.
