How Much Does It Cost To Power A Lightbulb In Europe?

Across much of Europe, dusty old incandescent lightbulbs have been replaced with new energy efficient LEDs. They last up to 25 times longer than their older counterparts and use up to 75 percent less energy. So how much are Europeans paying to power a single 10-watt LED for a year, assuming they are lighting it for three hours a day? Eurostat recently published an EU wide list which shows that Denmark has the highest cost at €3.12 a year. Germany comes second with €3.00 while Belgium is in third place with €2.94. The costs of powering an LED bulb are lowest in Bulgaria at just €1.01.
