5G to Disrupt Auto Industry Most

5G mobile technology will bring major changes to many industries. According to IT executives from around the world, the automotive industry will be particularly affected. This is according to a survey by the Business Performance Innovation Network (BPI). Other areas expected to be disrupted by the 5G rollout are cloud services and manufacturing. According to the experts, the financial services sector as well as government and agriculture will be among the least affected.

The 5G technology standard increases mobile upload and download speed significantly, reduced latency times (lag) while preserving energy. The low latency times of the new standard play an important role, especially for time-critical applications such as autonomous driving or connected health.
