Births
More non-UK-born mums than ever
Back in 1990, 11.6 percent of all births in England and Wales were to mothers themselves born outside the UK. That trend has became far more common in recent years and in 2015, it reached 27.5 percent. Last year, the most common countries of birth for non-UK mothers were Poland (22,928 live births), Pakistan (17,342) and India (13,780). This chart was recently featured in the indy100.
