Almost half of rape cases end without a conviction

According to the Crown Prosecution Service, there were 4,643 prosecutions for rape in the UK in 2015-16, up from 3,819 in 2009-10. 42.1 percent of all convictions in 2015-16 were unsuccessful. Click here for a regional breakdown of all cases and conviction rates across the UK.
