President-elect Donald Trump has so far taken a rather combative approach to China. Having received a call from Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen followed by a middle-of-the-night twitter rant, the long-abided by principle of 'one China', which officially counts independently governed Taiwan as part of the Chinese nation, has suddenly been pulled into the spotlight.
