Social Media Product Endorsements Make Celebs Richer

According to data released by Captiv8, celebrity influencers are earning big bucks for product endorsements, and are changing the face of marketing and PR.

The amounts so-called influencers are paid to promote a product by positing on social media outlets varies greatly by the number of followers said influencer has and on the social media outlet he or she is showcasing the product on.

With more than 238 million followers between his facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo generated 36 million U.S. dollars in value for Nike in 2016 via his posts, and earned 13 million U.S. dollars. Ronaldo endorsed Nike products in 59 posts over the last 12 months (Hookit).
