Trump's Cabinet

Trump Sets New Record For Cabinet 'No' Votes

During his first 100 days in office, President Trump broke numerous records. In addition to having the lowest approval ratings of any U.S. president this early into his first term, Trump's Cabinet has also received the most 'no' votes in history. According to the Washington Post, Trump has taken considerably longer than any of his predecessors to fill his cabinet, due to significantly higher opposition in the Senate.

He did finally complete that task with the Senate approving Alexander Acosta's appointment as labor secretary late last week. Votes on Trump's major department heads have led to a combined 437 "no" votes, more than Obama's cabinet had after two full terms (406). George W. Bush's cabinet only collected 157 'no' votes during his time in the White House while Bill Clinton only had 18. The Washington Post said that eight of Tump's Cabinet members have actually gotten more nays than any other previous nominees for their positions.
