Russia Meeting

What The Public Thinks About The 2016 Russia Meeting

The New York Times published details of a meeting between Donald Trump Jr., campaign advisors and a Russian lawyer named Natalia Veselnitskaya earlier this month. That added fresh torment to the already embattled Trump administration with details of further attendees adding fuel to the fire. It was also revealed that Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort attended the meeting with lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, along with a Russian American businessman once accused on money laundering.

Even though the White House has been heavily criticized by the media, what do the American public think about the meeting? A survey conducted by the Monmouth University found that the president's approval rating has largely remained unchanged amid the controversy, though the majority of the U.S. public think the meeting was inappropriate. When it comes to why people think the get-together occurred, 50 percent of respondents think it was for the advisors to get negative inromation on Hillary Clinton from the Russian government. 33 percent thought it for some other reason while 6 percent said it was for both reasons.
