Where Europeans Are Most Optimistic About Their Health

Across the European Union, seven out of ten people aged 16 or over rated their health status as good or very good in 2017, according to Eurostat. In the same year, fewer than one in ten rated their health as bad or very bad. There are considerable differences in perceived well-being between member states, however, with 82.4 percent of people in Ireland rating their health as good or very good.

Sweden came second for perceived well-being with 79.1 percent while Cyprus came third with 78.7 percent. Latvia was at the very bottom with only 45.2 percent of the population feeling positive about their health. Portugal came second-last with 51.5 percent while Lithuania was third-last with 52.1 percent.
