Super Bowl XLVIII Could Be the Coldest Ever

Sunday’s clash between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks could go down in history as the coldest Super Bowl ever. The game will be played at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, currently in the grip of an icy-spell.

The record for the coldest Super Bowl was a low of 39 degrees Fahrenheit in New Orleans back in 1972. This year’s fixture could easily beat that – according to latest forecasts temperatures between 20 and 39 degrees Fahrenheit are expected. Naturally, much of the pre-game discussion is centring on the weather but according to those involved, the conditions should cause little problem for the teams.
