Out of the 678,000 people classified as homeless in Germany in 2018, approximately 441,000 were refugees, according to the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Wohnungslosenhilfe (BAG W). Compared with 2017, the total number of homeless people increased 4.2 percent
