Global Meat Industry

New Meat for the World

The global meat market could undergo a drastic change over the next 20 years, according to data from the management consultancy Kearney. There will be a significant decrease in the global sales of conventionally produced meat, whereas there will be an increase in consumption of vegan meat substitutes and farmed meat. If Kearney’s predictions are accurate, it could have a positive impact on CO2 emissions. The greenhouse gas is released while traditional meat products are being produced, so if meat substitutes and farmed meat are on the rise, it could mean a decrease in CO2 emissions.

But that's in the future. For now, consumption of traditional meat is on the rise.
