Many Find Self-Isolation Difficult

Many across the world are still under strict social distancing orders. However, for some, self-isolation can be difficult for a number of reasons.

A new survey from YouGov and the Imperial College of London shows that many people, particularly in Asia, would find it difficult to self-isolate for the recommended amount of time if they had COVID-19 or were suspected of having it. 37 percent of respondents in Japan find it hard to self-isolate, compared to 36 percent in South Korea and 20 percent in Hong Kong. Sweden, Canada and China are the countries where people responded that they had the easiest time self-isolating. China, however, was the country that was the most likely to avoid self-isolating if they showed symptoms of COVID-19.

Overall, the survey found that roughly one in six people around the world find it hard to self-isolate.
