Boomers Scare Easily

Younger audiences watch horror more than older groups, according to Statista’s Global Consumer Survey. As our chart shows, of respondents who watch digital content, nearly half of IGen and Gen Z adults say they generally opt for horror online, versus 43 percent of Millennials, 37 percent of Generation X and only 23 percent of Baby Boomers.

This is translating to box offices too. According to Morning Consult, Gen Z adults are driving Hollywood’s horror season in the U.S. this year, with one in three reporting that they had seen a horror movie in the cinema in the past month.
