
Watching online TV and movies more due to the coronavirus U.S. 2020, by generation
According to a study held in March 2020, 43 percent of adults in the United States are much more or somewhat more likely to watch movies via a streaming service due to the coronavirus outbreak. Over 40 percent of adults also said that they were likely to watch more televison online, and many consumers also stated that they would probably sign up to a new service as a result of the pandemic. Millennial and Gen Z consumers favored movies over TV shows, and Boomers were notably less likely to increase their consumption of either streamed films or television.
