Who’s Investing in Their Health?

The new year is here, and with it come a host of New Year's resolutions. Health is top of mind for many Americans in 2026, as two of the three most cited New Year's resolutions this year are health-related: to exercise more, and to eat healthier.

Results from a Consumer Insights survey from Statista shows that health and fitness services, such as gym memberships and fitness apps, are much more popular in some countries than others. Almost half (46 percent) of the people surveyed in India between October 2025 and September 2025 said they had used such a service in the past 12 months, while they were only 9 percent in Japan. In the U.S., just under a quarter (24 percent) of respondents said they had recently used a health & fitness service.
