Widow's Bay Sweeps the 2026 Emmys With 14 Wins

With a total of 14 awards, Apple TV's "Widows Bay", a comedy horror series set in the fictional island town of the same name, was the big winner at the 2026 Emmy Awards. Following its premiere in late April, the show, created by Katie Dippold of "Parks and Recreation" fame, quickly struck a chord with audiences who enjoyed the mix of comedy and small-town suspense. Despite often feeling reminiscent of the works of Stephen Kind or John Carpenter, the show remains original enough not to feel formulaic and has now reaped the rewards.

Having gone into the Primetime Emmys as the frontrunner, with a total of 19 nominations and eight Creative Arts Emmys already under its belt, "Widow's Bay" swept all categories it was nominated for during Monday's award show, adding another six to its tally, including the last prize of the night for Outstanding Comedy Series. With its 14 wins, 'Widows's Bay" set a new record for the most Emmys won by a comedy series in a single year, topping "The Studio", another Apple TV hit, which topped the comedy category and won a total of 13 awards last year. The overall record is held by FX drama "Shōgun", which won 18 Emmys in 2024.
