Facebook Apps Most Popular, Google Has Strongest Overall Presence

Facebook leads the pack in the app world. The plain Facebook app had just under 150 million unique users in July 2016. Facebook messenger is the second most used app. Google has a strong overall presence too. If you count all its apps together (YouTube, Maps, Search, Play and Gmail), of which all come preinstalled with the Android operating system, Google’s the top app supplier. According to ComScore, 50 percent of all digital media time spent in the US is with smartphone apps.
