Domestic abuse in Ireland

The infographic below examines key figures on the subject of domestic abuse in Ireland. Making for grim reading, one in five women say they have been abused by a current or former partner - one in seven experiencing severe abusive behaviour. Although the subject is often automatically associated with female victims, 6 percent of men are said to suffer extreme domestic abuse, with around 2,000 asking for help from the victim service 'Amen' each year.
