Female gardaí today compared with 10 years ago

Over the past decade, increasing numbers of women have joined the police in the Republic of Ireland. In 2006, there were 2,126 female gardaí and that reached 2,957 this year. That represents just over a quarter of the 12,850-strong force. Read the entire story on Irish news website thejournal.ie.
