Central Bank Governor salaries in Europe compared

The Governor of a Central Bank is an extremely important role for the national and international economy, but how richly rewarded is such a position. As our infographic shows, this varies greatly from country to country. In Europe, the highest paid Governor is Thomas Jordan of the Swiss National Bank with a salary of 818 thousand euros. Mark Carney of the Bank of England earns a respectable 560 thousand. Inside the eurozone, Jan Smets in Belgium earns the most - 480 thousand.
