2016 was the worst year for Syria's children

The war in Syria has had an absolutely brutal impact on the country's children. Statista produced the following infographic using data from a grim UNICEF report released earlier this month. It shows that 652 children were killed in 2016, a 20 percent increase on the previous year. There have also been substantial increases in the number recruited to fight, the amount injured and attacks on the nation's schools. Read the full story on the Independent.
