The number of bed nights in the selected leading European tourism cities grew in 2023 compared to 2022. That said, in most cases, they did not fully recover yet from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. For instance, London - the European city tourism destination with the highest number of bed nights - reported an annual increase of roughly 32 percent in 2023. However, bed nights in London were around eight percent lower than in 2019.
