Business Development Manager - Academia & Public sector

What you do
- A self-starter with strong ownership and accountability to achieve revenue targets independently and quickly
- Build up the Academia and Public Sector vertical in Japan
- Acquiring new business and further developing our B2B client base
- Proactively develop sales opportunities within the industry and allocated territories
- Identify prospects and communicate effectively on our value propositions clearly and concisely.
- Consistently deliver individual sales targets every month
- Draft, conceptualize and share new sales campaigns and ideas within our growing team
- Ability to identify customers’ pain points quickly and recommend suitable solutions to the customer to create a win-win situation. Throughout the process, provide a high level of customer service, display an ability to build strong relationships and achieve a deep understanding of customers’ commercial objectives and motivations accurately
- Work as a liaison between the sales team, customers and other departments at Statista (research team, product team, etc.)
- Monitor the advertising and sponsorship of competitive publications and events
Who you are
- 2-3 years direct sales experience
- Proficiency in effective communication and presentation abilities
- MUST-Have: outbound B2B direct sales experience / experience in acquiring new business
- Experience dealing with clients from the Academic/Public sector will be an advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in English AND Japanese
- Extroverted and professional character with an ability to put yourself in your customers' shoes
- Competitive, aggressive sales nature with a desire to win
- Desire to be part of a rapidly expanding business
- Willingness to undertake business trips
- Keen eye for detail and organization skills
