That means investment banks still pay the most, despite regulatory bonus cuts in the wake of the financial crisis.

Earning a mere half or even third of M&A bankers, rating agencies or middle & back office workers tend to land the worst salaries and bonuses in the finance industry. Nevertheless, it still places them among the UK 's top 2% earners.
