London still receives the bulk of transport spending

When it comes to the allocation of funding for future transportation projects in the United Kingdom, the bulk of investment still goes to the capital. According to an analysis by the Institute for Public Policy Research, planned transport spending in London is nearly 2.6 times higher per capita than in the North and five times more than in Yorkshire and the Humber or the North East. The following infographic shows the scale of the disparity. Planned central and local/private infrastructure spending per capita from 2017/18 onwards amounts to £4,155 in London, £3,029 in the West Midlands and £2,439 in the North West.
