UK kids' friendships: always online?

In the most recent 'Children’s well-being and social relationships' release from the Office for National Statistics in the UK, the latest results of a longitudinal survey show the continuing rise in the share of children that use social media sites for more than three hours on a school day. In addition to the doubling since 2009/2010 of the overall share of kids spending a lot of time on their friendships while online, also of note is the large difference between boys and girls.
