Global data center use by organizations 2021, by type

In 2021, around 46 percent of respondents to a global survey reported that their organization runs a hybrid cloud, in which both private and public cloud data centers are utilized. Around a quarter of respondents said that their organization uses private cloud or on premises only, while a similar proportion only use public cloud. A public cloud is a type of resource made available to the public by a provider via the internet. Vendors such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform offer computing services to customers on a pay-as-you-go model.
