Share of foreign workers in Japan 2022, by status of residence
Close to 33 percent of foreign workers in Japan were residing in the country based on their social standing as of October 2022. This status of residence includes, among others, permanent residents as well as family members of Japanese nationals. The number of foreign workers in Japan strongly increased in recent years.
