In 2020, the number of domestic leisure person-trips in the United States declined by 24.5 percent over the previous year. This was largely a result of travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In 2022, the number of domestic leisure person-trips rose by 6.2 percent.
