In 2022, pharmaceutical products designed to treat the nervous system had the highest net value of drugs sold in Spain, with a net worth of more than 2.46 billion euros. Pharmaceutical products within the therapeutic category of digestive system and metabolism followed, with an estimated net value after sales of more than 2.27 billion euros. In that year, total pharmaceutical sales in Spain were estimated at nearly 23 billion euros.
