The numbers behind Black Friday in the UK

According to figures from Black Friday Global, 64 percent of shoppers in the UK plan to take advantage of Black Friday sales this year. Hardly surprising when the average discount offered by retailers is a massive 62 percent. As our chart shows, these kind of deals lead the average spend on this day, this year 23 November, to be £300. Retailers, especially those still struggling with physical stores on the high street, can look forward to a huge 1,500 percent increase in sales.
