Room occupancy rate of hotels in Cancún 2019-2020, by star rating
The overall bed occupancy of hotels in the Mexican city of Cancún fell to less than 33 percent in 2020. Only hotels rated with four stars registered a slightly higher occupancy rate that year. In contrast, 2-star hotels only reached an average occupancy rate of roughly 22 percent. In the previous year, the hotel bed occupancy in the famous Mexican travel destination showed a correlation to the star rating of these establishments.
