Contribution of tourism spending to Danish GDP 2010-2021, by type
In the 2010s, the expenditure of Danish tourists traveling abroad represented roughly three percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP). Meanwhile, the share of Denmark's GDP generated from inbound tourism was lower. In 2020 both figures dropped substantially with outbound tourism rising slightly in 2021. That year, outbound tourism accounted for just less than two percent of the Danish GDP, while the inbound tourism's share amounted to roughly 1.1 percentage points.
