Monthly commercial fleet deliveries worldwide by vessel type 2019-2020
With Chinese shipyards shutting down in February and March 2020, deliveries of commercial vessels fell drastically compared to the same period in the previous year. In February 2020, some four million deadweight tons (dwt) were delivered worldwide, compared to over six million dwt in February 2019. Only the dry bulk carrier segment registered more deliveries in the first quarter of 2020 than in the equivalent period in 2019.
