Respondents concerned about tourism sustainability in the UK 2018-2020, by age
Concern for tourism sustainability in the United Kingdom (UK) was particularly high among younger generations as of 2020. In that year, 71 percent of surveyed holidaymakers aged between 25 and 34 years claimed to be concerned about the environmental impact of tourism. Some 70 percent of interviewees aged between 16 and 24 years stated the same. Meanwhile, the share of respondents aged 55 years and older that expressed concern about tourism sustainability rose from 42 percent to 56 percent between 2018 and 2020.
