Monthly average prices for halva in Egypt 2019-2020
In July 2020, the monthly average price for unpacked halva in Egypt stood at 40.03 Egyptian pounds (2.55 U.S. dollars) per kilogram, which represented a slight drop of roughly 0.45 percent from the previous month. The price was relatively stable from January to October 2019, before it jumped to 40.97 Egyptian pounds (2.61 U.S. dollars) per kilogram in November. Halva is a Middle-Eastern crumbly nut-butter-based product often made from tahini and sugar. Egyptians consider halva important as it provides a large amount of needed energy.
