Urban household expenditure share in China 1990-2017, by type of products

In 2017, food accounted for around a quarter of the urban household annual expenditure in China. According to McKinsey data analysis, urban Chinese consumers have been increasing their expenditure share on products and services other than food, especially on housing/utilities and transportation and communication services or goods.
