Price of crushed stone - U.S. 2007-2018 The price of crushed stone in the United States has risen over the last decade, reaching 11.9 U.S. dollars per metric ton in 2018. Domestic crushed stone is produced by over a thousand companies all across the country. Texas, Pennsylvania, and Florida were among the largest crushed stone producers. Most of the stone produced domestically was limestone and dolomite, followed by granite.
Crushed stone consumption

The United States imported 22 million metric tons of crushed stone for consumption purposes in 2018. Of the stone that was consumed, the majority was used as construction material, largely for road construction and maintenance. The demand and supply of crushed stone tends to depend highly on the wellbeing of the construction market. A growing public and private construction sector will likely lead to rising crushed stone prices. In terms of recycling, crushed stone aggregate that was used in road surfaces have been increasingly recycled across the United States. Sand and gravel can be used as substitutes for crushed stone in road building.
