Egypt: monthly value of exports from Suez port 2019-2020

As of July 2020, the value of exports from Suez port in Egypt was close to 304.1 million U.S. dollars, which illustrated an increase in value by approximately 1.6 percent with respect to the preceding month. During the period under review, exports through the Suez port fluctuated between nearly 220.7 million U.S. dollars in May 2020, and around 506.2 million U.S. dollars in January 2020. Furthermore, in July 2020, 14.13 percent of all Egyptian port exports were through the Suez port. Moreover, at the same date, exports from the port as a share of total Egyptian port exports ranged between 11.51 and 20.4 percent.

Total exports is the total exports from all Egyptian ports.

The data constitute all clearance systems for customs, including foreign trade free zones, the stored products in customs warehouses, as well as imports and exports with respect to temporary admission systems or general trade system.

"Temporary admission system" reflects the Customs operations through which some goods, that are within the Customs territory, can with limitation be partially or totally relieved from import taxes and duties payments.

"General trade system" is in place when the economic territory along with its statistical territory coincide. This reflects that imports are all goods going into an economic territory, while exports are all goods going out of an economic territory of a compiling country.
