According to a survey conducted in South Korea in April 2021, about 71.2 percent of respondents in their forties said they were interested in South Korea's professional baseball league, the highest percentage across all age groups. The survey showed that the personal interest in professional baseball increased with the age of the respondents. While the interest in professional baseball declined after the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, it rose again in the following year.
